Introduction

KCDC is a women led non-governmental organization established in Mugu district and is devoted to work in community to  enhance the livelihood of the people in the rural area. It works with its competent, skilled manegerial and technical personels by identifying the local need and problems with in the community. This organization worked together as partner in active participation and close collaboration with community based organization, NGO, Government Organization and INGOs in the district. 

 

The KCDC is committed on superiority work without any complain and comments from clients and stakeholders. It shows a capable organization in the district for development efforts especially in livelihood improvement of the rural poor. Result based joint monitoring with concerned stakeholders led KCDC for successful completion and to achieve the target output and impact. The KCDC is currently working on different project related to social mobilization, agriculture, food and nutrition security, maternal and child health, education, good governance and accountability community development, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene( WASH) sector. Income generating and community development program in the district in coordination with local governments, community based organization and different organization has demonstrated the quality of work, successfully fulfilled the commitments to the assigned tasks and programs.

 

KCDC has regular technical and financial monitoring system with in the organization. It submits annual technical and audited financial report to the concerned government organizations and donors. KCDC gets yearly renew of organization from authorized government offices. It has maintained double track book keeping system and separate account section and personnel responsible for financial management.

 

The KCDC works for the marginalized and vulnerable communities (economic, social and culturally backward like s women, children, dalit and poor), who are the target group of KCDC. The KCDC prefer to work in transparent way on the role, responsibilities and deliverables with in the organization and partners working with us. It is serious in preparing accounts, dealings and maintaining fairness in its behavior. It works against fraud, coerssiveness, corruption, illegal compulsions and other societal evils to maintain social justice, openness and trust worthiness. KCDC shows its capability by organizing public hearing and performance auditing for successful completion of work.

KCDC has been established with an aim of focusing on economic empowerment of people through collective and participatory approach. It has good track of records of different programs coordinating with multiple stakeholders in community development, gender and social inclusion, improved water mill (IWM), poverty reduction, promotion of commercial agricultural activities. Experienced, qualified, competent and dedicated human resources are being contributing their expertise for the upliftment of livelihood of people and their living standard through developmental activities. KCDC has worked in conflict situation with good rapport building among homogeneous and heterogeneous target groups. It has developed local level resource person and capacity building of community based organization to perform the community work competitively.

KCDC has involved in awareness creation and education, market led fresh vegetable production, kitchen garden promotion, Seed production, Cash crops production and increase income generation. It has also supported to farmers group in nursery establishment, NTFP promotion and income generating activities. Capacity building activities such as technical training on production and marketing of agricultural produce, group and cooperative management and leadership development were carried out.

 

The majority of the programs accomplished by KCDC prioritized on holistic and participatory approach. This focused on group dynamic principles, which includes, group formation and management, social inclusion, equity maintenance, group decision, and collective working at the community level. The organization and its working team members were aware of conflict management by sharing opinions, social cohesiveness, and communication skills.

 

KCDC has systematically documented all information regarding all development activities in the form of progress reports, lessons learned, success case studies, impact studies, and process reports for its knowledge management which is a big asset of KCDC for engaging further development activities.
